Rhythm Recap [ 2.11.18 ]

2.11.18

Missionary Adrian Rosen

TEXT: Acts 13-14; 2 Tim. 3:10-12; Eph. 4:11-14; Romans 10:13-15

TRUTHS:

1. Even in the face of persecution and physical harm, Paul returns to the cities where his missionary efforts and gospel preaching took him. He does this out of his love and care for the people who responded to the gospel and have become followers of Christ. As Christians, we will face persecution. The enemy will do all in his power to shut us up and shut us down. At times--just like Paul--we need to stand, preach, and minister boldly in the face of persecution.

2. Jesus gives his Church spiritual leaders that care for the people of God, help them grow and mature, and equip God's people for the work of ministry.

3.The Kingdom of God spreads--according to Romans 10--through a five step process. (1) Believers are sent, (2) believers preach the gospel, (3) unbelievers hear, (4) unbelievers respond and call out to the Lord, and (5) God saves all that call on him.

4. If you know Jesus, you are responsible for the spread of the gospel both locally and throughout the world. Wherever and however the Lord has called you to participate, commit your life to it and sacrifice lesser pursuits to ensure it remains a focus throughout your earthly life.

TALK TO EACH OTHER:

1. What do you think a believer needs in order to be equipped for the work of ministry?

2. How should believers respond to and view the persecutions they may find themselves facing?

3. Which aspect of spreading the Kingdom of God is more important: to show the gospel or to tell the gospel?

4. What does it look like for you to support God's mission throughout the world?

TALK TO GOD:

Pray as you feel led concerning the following area(s):

That our church would have a clear understanding of the work God has called us to both locally and throughout the world.

For our world missionary Adrian Rosen, his family, and the work the Lord has called them to.
